In July 2013 writer and multidisciplinary artist Stevie Ronnie visited the High Arctic as part of the Arctic Circle international residency programme. Arctica was a two-year series of interlinked exhibitions and events on the subject of climate change that Stevie made during 2015/2016 in response to that experience.

The works created during the project are interdisciplinary in nature encompassing literature, performance, photography, artist’s books, film and a digital public artwork.

On this website you will find information relating to the exhibitions, events, performances, talks and screenings that took place across England during 2015/2016. You can also find a gallery of images from the project, the filmpoems that Stevie made with Alastair Cook and a link through to the digital public artwork, which is currently hosted on Stevie’s website.

You can contact us via email via: stevie [at] stevieronnie.com . The mailing list for the project is now no longer active.

This work has been made possible through the financial support of Arts Council England, Durham Book Festival and New Writing North with additional support from The Arctic Circle, Free Word Centre, the Arvon Foundation, NewBridge Books, Filmpoem, ArtCOP21, The Literary Platform, The Writing Platform and the Centre for Fine Print Research at UWE
